Figured I’d check in and let people know I’m not dead, or anything.

I would’ve loved to be online more, but last semester was rough. (Honestly, the last few years have been pretty rough for me, and the longer I’m in school, the worse it seems to be getting, because I’m honestly, just, so tired. All the time.) Between new supervisors/coworkers/training and other work-study craziness, and some honestly terrible classes I needed to take (a law and a business class, both insanely difficult for me, and only the law one was mildly interesting), and a club I’d joined last January (I’d hit introversion-critical mass and needed some human interaction, and someone had suggested to me that doing an active-type activity might help with the being less Completely Strapped for Energy), I’ve not really had a lot of free time lately. To top it all off, my laptop keyboard has been half-broken for months (hopefully soon to be fixed), which made a my typing have nknown errors or lost or extra etters, which are a pain to try and catch, and severely slow down my typing speed (already only at a middling pace).

I’m pretty close to having my degree, now, though. Which means, I’ve got… some thinking to do, about what’’s next for me. I’ll explain what I mean later, but for now, another semester’s starting. Here’s to hoping for more time to write in the new year.

Give away….

You must be willing to allow me to have a mailing address. I will send the winner that comic books and then destroy the address! Seriously, I can’t even remember my mother in law’s address so don’t worry about it. You must be over 18 years of age. I will pick with a random number generator.

So I fell off the face of the Earth for a while there…

Not really by choice, but, well…

So, it turns out Summer semester is an unmitigated nightmare, especially if you were already feeling super burnt out on school and had originally planned on taking a break.

Until you learned that some classes that’re essential to graduating only seem to happen in the summer.

So you take both of them on offer.

… only to discover later that they are each, individually, the absolute worst classes you’ve ever attended, and oh yeah, impossible to pass, especially when taken together.

So my life has been about 97% ruined for the last few months, and I did the math yesterday and realized it was impossible for me to pass them.

Goodbye GPA.

Hopefully-not-goodbye to the Work Study and Pell Grants that allow me to go to school at all, which have GPA-based requirements.

Hello gut-wrenching uncertainty, and academic exhaustion that never left.

There’s not really anything I can do, but I really don’t know what the future holds for me anymore.

I miss being a person.

So… yeah.

How’ve you all been doing?

TRON

We shot hundreds of these photos.

I loved every minute.

The production photos are always so much fun! I wish we had more of them to reblog. They’re excellent circuit references and full of cool character moments to headcanon with. And it’s clear you were having a great time. :)

Send me an ask that says “Would you ever write…” and continue the sentence.

I’ll respond with yes or no and give an explanation as to why if I want to.

Oh I’d like to do this one…

I’ve Finally Caught Up on all the stuff I missed while spiraling down into Finals (so, pretty much all of April/the beginning of May). Now to catch up on what I missed while catching up.

I have A Thing about keeping up with my dashboard; I’m hoping to not have to trim it down again.

In other news, my Work Study job, which could have continued through the end of May, and which I had been counting on to do so, ended last Friday because the department chair decided they didn’t need me (even though I cost them about $2.62 an hour, so I’m not exactly a major investment or anything - the rest of my wages came from funds set aside by the Government). I’ll probably be backk there again in the Fall (provided I get Work Study funds allocated to me again, which is more up-in-the-air than I’d like to think about).

Also, instead of having a week between semesters like I’d expected, I have today and tomorrow.

That’s right, classes start on a Wednesday, what even.

I have two big projects (and two small ones technically) that I have to finish by the end of the semester (AKA the end of the month), and I haven’t really made any great progress on them. I’ve kind of been trying for weeks and yet… I just, I guess I haven’t been in a ‘productive’ sort of headspace, combined with an upward tick in activities that keep me away from when I wake up to when I go to sleep. Bleh.

The closest I got to being productive is doing part of a reading assignment at work until it started to put me to sleep, and binge watching all of the new Inspector Gadget cartoon on Netflix, which while not actually helping me actualy accomplish something, was very successful in keeping my mood up for the almost-week it took me to get through it. Man, I love Inspector Gadget, have for years.

I’ve caught up now, though, so I should… really get back to my homework.

Go Go Gadget Snoozefest.
